Intended purpose
The GORE® SYNECOR Preperitoneal Biomaterial device is intended for use as a non-absorbable reinforcing or bridging material with placement between tissue layers where ingrowth is desired.
Functional description
The GORE® SYNECOR Preperitoneal Biomaterial device is constructed of three distinct functional layers comprised of a non-absorbable macroporous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) knit mesh between two porous synthetic bioabsorbable web layers. The bioabsorbable web layers provide a scaffold for cellular infiltration and vascularization. The non-absorbable knit layer provides permanent strength.
