RM Classic Uncemented Revision Cup TiCP - Acetabulum prosthesis

Device Dossier for RM Classic Uncemented Revision Cup TiCP - Acetabulum prosthesis (Acetabulum prosthesis, Class III, sponsor Enovis Surgical). ARTG…

Intended purpose

The RM Classic Revision Cup is intended to treat primary operations with extensive bone defects and revision cases, such as hip arthrosis, dysplasic coxarthroses, post-traumatic coxarthroses and revisions with slight bone loss.

Functional description

The RM Classic revision cup is a monoblock uncemented implant made out of UHMW-PE. This material has a modulus of elasticity of about 1,000N/mm2, that is very similar to bone structure. The thin and non-interconnected coating has no structural stiffness of its own, thus ensuring that the biomechanical behaviour of the RM Classic Cup in the acetabular zone remains largely physiological after implantation. Cancellous bone screws can be used to further improve fixation of the cup.
