Intended purpose

The MiniMed 780G system is indicated for use by individuals aged 2 years and older with insulin-requiring diabetes, whose total daily dose of insulin is 6 units per day or more. The MiniMed 780G system is intended for the continuous delivery of basal insulin at selectable rates, and the administration of insulin boluses at selectable amounts. The system is also intended to continuously monitor glucose values in the fluid under the skin. The MiniMed 780G system includes Smart Guard technology, which can be programmed to provide an automatic adjustment of insulin delivery based on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and can suspend the delivery of insulin when the SG value falls below or is predicted to fall below predefined threshold values.

Functional description

The MiniMed 780G Kit (MMT 1895) includes , a welcome pack, information on using the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system and various non-medical accessories such as batteries, belt clips, and a tubing clamp, in addition to the MiniMed 780G pump (MMT 1885). The pump delivers insulin into the body through the infusion set, based on the settings provided by a healthcare professional.
