Intended purpose
Used as a volume substitute for the aqueous humor during intraocular surgery such as lens extraction and insertion of an intraocular lens. The product maintains the depth of the anterior chamber throughout surgery and reduces the risk of traumatization of the corneal endothelium, the iris and the ciliary body as a result of direct contact with surgical instruments. When applied extraocularly, the product is used as a wetting agent during ocular surgery to prevent corneal dehydration or as a lubricant and wetting agent during the implantation of intraocular lenses using injector or cartridge systems. Used as an adjuvant for the following surgical procedures: Surgery of the anterior chamber of the eye, in particular: - Cataract surgery with or without intraocular lens implantation - Glaucoma surgery
