Intended purpose

Indicated for use as an opthalmic surgical aid in the anterior segment during cataract extraction and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Opthalmic viscoelastic solutions serve to maintaim a deep anterior chamber during anterior segment surgery , thereby reducing trauma to the corneal endothelium and surrounding ocular tissues. They help push back the vitreous face and prevent formation of a flat chamber postoperatively.

Functional description

ProVisc is designed to create and maintain space i the anterior chamber during surgery and act as a protective barrier, thereby allowing more room for intraocular manipulation with less potential trauma to the corneal endothelium and other ocular tissues
