Intended purpose
The Mobile Power Unit is intended for use with the HeartMate 3 LVAS. The Mobile Power Unit is for home or clinical use and provides power to the HeartMate 3 system.
Functional description
The Mobile Power Unit (MPU) connects to an AC outlet via its power cord, providing power to the HeartMate3 LVAS. The System Controller and MPU are linked by a patient cable, permanently attached to the MPU, which transfers power to the System Controller. The MPU powers the LVAD during tethered operation, echoes audio alarms from the System Controller, and displays indicators for power, alarms, and battery level.
