Intended purpose

To be attached to a femoral stem prosthesis to extend the length of the prosthetic femur, and to enable the surgeon to determine how deep to go into the femoral canal during implantation or revision of a total hip prosthesis or which may in some cases also include the knee and total replacement of the femur. Indications for the implantation may be after bone resection due to a tumor, massive bone loss such as in Morbus Gorham or for the revision arthroplasty and for the prosthetic treatment in case of fractures, pseudarthrosis and arthrosis. This component is an extension, connecting or reducing piece only and does not provide primary fixation to the bone or partial replacement of the joint, but enables adaption of the joint replacement to individual patient needs. The products do not contain silver.
