Intended purpose
A surgical instrument that is designed as an elongated, tapered and serrated cutting tool intended for shaping and enlarging holes in bone tissue. Is a dual purpose reusable instrument that as a broach is used to form the envelope in the femur for the subsequent femoral prosthesis and as a trial is used during the trial reduction of the hip to determine the most appropriate femoral prosthesis.
