Intended purpose

The EZ Glide aortic perfusion cannulae are specifically intended to be used in cardiopulmonary bypass surgery in the context of a heart defect. They are intended for perfusion of oxygenated blood to the aorta and the rest of the body during short-term (≤6 hours) cardiopulmonary bypass procedures to replace heart function. A cardiopulmonary bypass circuit is created to establish circulation, and the arterial perfusion cannulae are parts of the essential elements of the circuit.
