Intended purpose
All Hi-Torque Guide Wires are intended to facilitate the placement of balloon dilatation catheters during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).
Functional description
A coiled wire that is designed to fit inside a percutaneous catheter. It is typically made of stainless steel, and has a hydrocoat hydrophilic coating (to facilitate movement in the vessels). The device is single-use.
