Intended purpose
Boston Scientific ACUITY Whisper View Guide Wires with hydrophilic coating are intended to facilitate the placement of Boston Scientific or Guidant Left Ventricular (LV) leads within the Coronary Venous vasculature
Functional description
ACUITY Whisper View™ is available in 3 different support profiles (ES-Extra Support, DS-Distal Support and EDS-Extra Distal Support). The distal tip is shapeable or a preshaped “J” tip is available. After flushing to activate the hydrophilic coating, the distal end of the guide wire is inserted through the terminal pin of the lead and is advanced until the tip is just proximal to the lead tip. The guide wire/lead assembly is then advanced through a guide catheter to the desired location.
