Intended purpose
The Amplatz Super Stiff guidewire facilitates catheter placement and exchange during diagnostic or interventional procedures. It is not intended for use in coronary arteries
Functional description
The Amplatz Super Stiff guidewire is inserted through an introducer and tracked through the vasculature until it reaches the desired location. The introducer is then removed and the wire left in situ. A catheter can then be tracked over the guide wire.
