Intended purpose
Asahi RG3 PTCA Guide Wires are intended to facilitate the placement of balloon dilatation catheters during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). The Asahi PTCA guide wire is not to be used in the cerebral blood vessels.
Functional description
The Asahi RG3 PTCA Guide Wire is a steerable guide wire used for externalisation during retrograde percutaneous coronary interventions. It allows for the introduction of devices from either an antegrade or retrograde direction and provides support for delivery of microcatheters, balloon dilatation catheters and stents to target lesions in the coronary vascular system during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
