Functional description
Cordis Guidewires have a stainless-steel shaft. The shaft is either PTFE coated or PTFE and Heparin coated. Guidewire length (PTFE coating covers the entire length of the device), diameter, core configuration, flexibility type, coating, and tip configuration are all indicated on the product label. The Cordis Guidewires have a PTFE lubricious coating that facilitates the insertion of the guidewire as well as the percutaneous introduction of catheters.
