Intended purpose

Intended to facilitate the placement of balloon dilatation catheters and compatible stent devices during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedure.

Functional description

A guide wire composed of coil and core wire, with the distal segment coated with hydrophilic coating. Some models contain safety mesh. Available in tip shapes: straight, A tip, and H tip. The straight models are equipped with a mandrel used to adjust the guide wire tip and assist the guide wire in reaching the target lesion. The distal portion has a radiopaque coil, providing visibility and shaping ability. A polymer jacket covers either half- or full-length of the guide wire.
