Intended purpose

The monitor is an external electronic device that interfaces with Medtronic implanted heart devices and a telecommunications connection to transmit stored implanted heart device data to the physician or clinician.

Functional description

A portable, line-powered patient monitor for interfacing with Medtronic cardiac implantable devices to remotely transmit implantable device data to the CareLink system for processing and display. It is comprised of a Base Station, Reader and power supply. Cellular technology is used for data transfer to the CareLink Network and Bluetooth technology to communicate between the Reader and the Base Station.
