Intended purpose

A surgical instrument used during cardiac valve replacement or repair that allows measurement of the valve opening into which the appropriate sized replacement valve or ring will be implanted.

Functional description

The sizer SAS-200 is used at the time of operation to assist in selecting the proper valve size in the individual case. The sizer consists of a central rigid portion and of bendable shaft connected to two sizer heads. The shaft of the sizer can be bent to help insertion into the annulus.
