A single use device attached to a dedicated phacoemulsification ultrasound generator handpiece, for insertion into the eye for delivery of the ultrasonic energy created by and provided from the handpiece. The ultrasound liquefies the cataractous opaque lens nucleus which is aspirated through the needle and handpiece during cataract surgery
