Intended purpose

Angiographic catheters are designed to be used for delivering radiopaque media to selected sites in the vascular system in conjunction with routine diagnostic procedures. Angiographic catheters with marker bands may also be used for anatomical measurements.

Functional description

Merit(non braided)catheters are flexible tubes for easier access and used to introduce contrast media or other fluids into the body for diagnostic analysis of a patients vasculature. The hub is used to manipulate the catheter within the body, the shaft is flexible and diameter sized according to area of use. The tip is formed into specific shapes to use in different vessels.
