Intended purpose
The Arrow Berman Angiographic Balloon Catheter allow measurement of pressures in various locations of the cardiac/pulmonary systems as a guide to treatment. The Berman catheter may also be used to inject contrast media for cardiac/pulmonary imaging studies.
Functional description
Catheters consist of radiopaque tubing marked in 10 cm increments to determine how much of the catheter has been inserted. Consists of two lumens: a media injection and a balloon inflation lumen. The media injection lumen exits the catheter through multiple holes that are situated just before the distal tip and is used for cardiac angiography, The balloon inflation lumen has a one-way stopcock and syringe at its proximal end and a latex balloon attached the tip at the distal end of the catheter.
