Intended purpose

The palindrome chronic catheter is intended for acute and chronic hemodialysis,apheresis, and infusion. It may be inserted either percutaneously or by cutdown. Catheters greater than 40cm implant length are indicated for femoral insertion.

Functional description

The Palindrome Precision catheter (presented in a kit assembly) has a symmetric tip with marker band technology and laser cut side slots to increase tip visualization and reduce recirculation. A radiopaque tungsten marker band allows the inserter to visualise the placement of the tip into the right atrium using fluoroscopy and x-ray. The stylet allows for an over the wire insertion technique creating staggered tip effect for smoother left sided or subclavian catheter placements.
