Intended purpose
The Chaperon Guiding Catheter system is designed to advance interventional and diagnostic devices through the vasculature. The device is intended for general intravascular use, including the neuro and peripheral vasculature. The Chaperon Guiding Catheter is a two-catheter system comprised of the outer catheter and the inner catheter to access the desired anatomy. The 5F Guiding catheter comes with an 4F inner catheter, the 6F guiding catheter comes with a 5F inner catheter.
Functional description
The guiding catheter is designed to facilitate passage of intravascular devices through the vasculature. The inner catheter is designed to facilitate advancement of the guiding catheter through the vasculature. Both catheters are braid-reinforced, variable stiffness with pre-shaped distal segment. The guiding catheter incorporates a radiopaque marker. Coated with a hydrophilic polymer and the proximal end contains a luer lock adapter for connection to the guiding catheter hub.
