Intended purpose

A flexible tube designed for insertion into the peritoneal cavity, right atrium of the heart, or other CSF diversion site. This device is used as distal catheters in hydrocephalic shunts. This device is single-use.

Functional description

Barium Impregnated Cardiac/Peritoneal, or Distal Catheters are designed as distal components of CSF-Flow Control Shunts for use in shunting cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricles of the brain to the peritoneal cavity, or into the right atrium of the heart.
