CSF-Lumboperitoneal Catheter System - Catheter, peritoneal

Intended purpose

A flexible tube designed for insertion into the cavity surrounded by a double layer sac that lines the abdominal walls and covers most of the viscera contained therein (peritoneum). This device is single-use.

Functional description

The Lumboperitoneal Catheter is designed to work as part of the Lumboperitoneal Shunt. It is used for diversion of Cerebrospinal fluid from the lumbar subacrachnoid space into the peritoneal cavity using simplified surgical techniques. The catheter design allows for percutaneous placement without laminectomy.
