Intended purpose

A three lumen CV CatheterIntended to allow short term access (<30 days) to the central vascular system. This catheter is intended for multiple procedures through a single access site such as fluid infusion, blood sampling, simultaneous medication administration and central venous monitoring. The kit contains a Central Venous Catheter, and other components such as a spring wire guide, introducer needle, and other devices to assist insertion depending on the selected insertion site.

Functional description

The CVC consists of a radio-opaque polyurethane tube with three parallel non communicating lumens designed for short term vascular access (<30 days). The catheter body has depth markings for estimating insertion depth from the catheter tip to allow proper positioning. The CVC comes in a kit, which is intended to assist the insertion and placement of the catheter in various placement sites. The kit contains a spring wire guide, catheter with introducer needle, needles, clamps, dilator, syringe.
