Intended purpose

A multi lumen CV catheter intended to allow short term access (<30 days) to the central vascular system. This catheter is intended for multiple procedures through a single access site such as fluid infusion, blood sampling, simultaneous medication administration and central venous monitoring. The kit contains a Central Venous Catheter, and other components such as a spring wire guide, introducer needle, pressure transduction probe and other devices to assist insertion depending on the selected insertion site.

Functional description

The CVC consists of a radio-opaque polyurethane tube with multi lumens designed for short term vascular access (<30 days). The catheter body has depth markings for estimating insertion depth from the catheter tip to allow proper positioning. The CVC comes in a kit, which is intended to assist the insertion and placement of the catheter in various placement sites. The kit contains items such as spring wire guide, introducer needle, clamps, dilator, pressure transducer probe, syringes.
