- GMDN category: Cervical total disc replacement prosthesis
Intended purpose
Prostheses used to replace a cervical inter-vertebral disc and to restore disc height and segmental motion.
Functional description
The Prodisc C device family are modular intervertebral disc prostheses. All Prodisc C device family of implants utilize a ball and socket articulation design of metal on ultra-high molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). To achieve a physiological range of motion in regard to flexion/extension, rotation, and lateral bending, the devices follow the principle of a ball and socket joint with a fixed center of rotation.
