Intended purpose

The purpose of the Prestige™ Cervical Disc System is to treat cervical disc disease while maintaining the motion of the treated level(s).

Functional description

The Prestige Cervical Disc is a two-piece articulating metal on metal device that is inserted into the intervertebral disc space using an anterior approach. The implant device consists of two metal plates which function via a ball and trough mechanism. These two features engage to create an interface that is designed to allow motion after implantation.
