Intended purpose
The MiniHip Stem as a total hip arthroplasty is indicated for non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease, including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis, rheumatoid arthritis and correction of functional deformity.
Functional description
The MiniHip is a titanium femoral stem (Ti-6Al-4V) coated with a layer of hydroxyl-apaptite applied over a layer of pure titanium. The distal section of the stem is polished. The device provides a 130° CCD neck angle and is intended to be used with 12/14 modular taper heads. It is intended to provide increased patient mobility and reduce pain by replacing the damaged hip joint articulation where there is evidence of sufficient sound bone to seat and support the component.
