Intended purpose

Implantable femoral stem prosthesis for use in primary and revision hemi or total hip arthroplasty. Indications for use include non-inflammatory degenerative joint diseases including osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis; rheumatoid arthritis; correction of functional deformities; treatment of non-union, femoral neck and trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur with femoral head involvement and which are unmanageable using other techniques; revision procedures where other treatment or devices have failed. Stem is constructed of PPS coated titanium alloy and is intended for uncemented biological fixation.

Functional description

Porous plasma coated titanium alloy femoral stem prosthesis for use with other components as part of total hip arthroplasty. Shorter stem length provides bone conserving stem option to facilitate minimally invasive surgical techniques, provide alternative to femoral resurfacing and for cases where bone conserving prosthesis is desirable. Type 1 taper with 133 degree neck angle. The coating allows for initial scratch-fit stability and uncemented biological fixation.
