Hydra Cementless Stem - HA coated - Coated hip femur prosthesis, modular

Intended purpose

The Hydra cementless stem which is a is a component of the modular Hydra prosthesis system indicated for primary and secondary arthrosis; rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis; deformities such as dysplasia; fractures and necrosis of bone; revisions where other devices or treatments have failed and metastatic diseases.

Functional description

Part of a modular system and couples with a separate modular neck component which connects to an appropriate femoral head prosthesis. Inserted into and replaces the top part of the femur as part of a hip replacement. Has a double-taper profile of the metaphyseal portion to avoid risk of sinking, a quadrangular cross-section for increasing the resistance to twisting. Contains horizontal grooves in the metaphyseal region and vertical grooves in the distal region to improve fixation.
