Intended purpose
The Humeral integral shaft & stem, coated is a component of the METS Proximal Humeral Modular System, which is designed as a modular system that can be used to replace diseased or deficient bone of the proximal humerus. The METS Proximal Humeral Modular System is indicated for: - Primary bone tumour - Secondary tumour arising in bone - Non-neoplastic conditions affecting the shafts of long bones - Failed joint replacements - Failed massive replacements.
Functional description
The Humeral integral shaft & stem, coated is a straight titanium integrated shaft and stem used for very short resections. The appropriate sized integral shaft stem construct is inserted into the proximal humeral component, ensuring the alignment lug is correctly engaged within the bore of the humeral component and the tip of the stem is impacted with a soft ended hammer tip to lock into position. Available with hydroxyapatite coated stipples. Intended to be cemented in the intramedullary canal.
