Intended purpose
The AquaMic Headpiece transfers sound signals and power from the sound processor to the implant, and system data from the implant to the processor. The AquaMic Headpiece may also be used in environments with water or particulate matter (e.g. dust, sand).
Functional description
The AquaMic headpiece is designed for use during swimming, bathing and showering and carries an IP68 rating for water and particulate matter (e.g. dust, sand) resistance. The headpiece microphone picks up sound from your environment and transfers it to the sound processor via a detachable cable. Once the sound processor has converted the sound into electric signals, it sends the information to the implant via the cable and headpiece.
