Intended purpose

Audio Processor for MED-EL cochlear implant and auditory brainstem implant systems, used to evoke auditory sensation.

Functional description

External component of the CI system, worn behind the ear or on the body, supports electrical stimulation. The audio processor includes the control unit with earhook attached, battery pack, coil & coil cable. The coil is held in place by magnetic attraction to the implant. Batteries provide sufficient power for both the external and the implanted electronics. Multiple colour options available.
