Intended purpose

AVITENE™ (MCH) is used in surgical procedures as an adjunct to hemostasis when control of bleeding by ligature or conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.

Functional description

AVITENE™ (MCH) is an absorbable topical hemostatic agent prepared as a dry, sterile, fibrous, water insoluble partial hydrochloric acid salt of purified bovine corium collagen. Avitene™ Flowable is prepared by mixing Avitene™ MCH (dry, sterile, fibrous, water insoluble partial hydrochloric acid salt of 100% purified bovine corium collagen) with sterile saline prior to use
