Intended purpose

For distending the tissue around the joint during arthroscopy, e.g. the knee or shoulder joint, by filling the cavity with a fluid to extend the tissue around the site facilitating viewing and intervention with an arthroscope; to irrigate surgically removed bone, cartilage and other tissue debris, and fluids from the site.
