Intended purpose

A dressing which may be used for the management of Partial thickness (second degree) burns, Diabetic foot ulcers, Leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers/sores , Surgical wounds left to heal by secondary intention, Surgical wounds that heal by primary intent such as dermatological and surgical incisions, Traumatic wounds, Wounds that are prone to bleeding, Oncology wounds with exudate, Painful wounds, and Infected wounds.

Functional description

AQUACEL Ag EXTRA dressing quickly hydrates to form a soft, cohesive, clear gel sheet in contact with wound exudate. This gel covers the surface of the wound by moulding itself over the contours thereby maintaining warm, moist local wound conditions for an optimal healing in exuding wounds. The moist gel also helps autolytic debridement in appropriate conditions. The silver in the dressing kills a broad spectrum of wound bacteria, and aids in creating an antimicrobial environment.
