Intended purpose

ActivHeal Aquafiber® Ag Silver Alginate Antimicrobial Wound Dressing is indicated for use in the management of the following moderate to heavily exuding partial to full thickness wounds: • Post-operative wounds • Trauma wounds (dermal lesions, trauma injuries or incisions) • Leg ulcers • Pressure ulcers • Diabetic ulcers • Graft and donor sites

Functional description

ActiveHeal Aquafiber Ag sterile dressing includes a high M, calcium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose and ionic silver(Silver Carbonate) which releases silver ions in wound fluid. The dressing forms a gel which aids autolytic debridement and maintains a moist environment for optimal wound healing and allows removal without damage to healing tissue. Silver ions released provide antimicrobial protection against a broad spectrum of microorganisms associated with infected wounds for up to 7 days.
