Intended purpose
IODOSORB Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of chronic exuding wounds such as venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure injuries. IODOSORB Ointment can be used under compression therapy. IODOSORB Ointment may be used on infected wounds.
Functional description
IODOSORB Ointment is a sterile dark brown ointment consisting of cadexomer (modified starch microbeads), polyethylene glycol, poloxamer and iodine. The cadexomer beads are biodegradable. IODOSORB Ointment will absorb excess exudate and slough from the wound bed, and kill bacteria at the wound surface. In doing this, it transforms into a soft moist gel.
