Intended purpose
IODOSORB Dressing is indicated for the topical treatment of chronic exuding wounds such as venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure injuries. IODOSORB Dressing can be used under compression therapy. IODOSORB Dressing may be used on infected wounds.
Functional description
IODOSORB Dressing is a sterile dark brown paste dressing with a gauze backing on both sides. The paste consists of cadexomer (modified starch microbeads), polyethylene glycol and iodine. The cadexomer beads are biodegradable. IODOSORB Dressing will absorb excess exudate and slough from the wound bed and kill bacteria at the wound surface. In doing this, it transforms into a soft moist gel.
