- GMDN category: Electromechanical orthopaedic extracorporeal shock wave/pneumatic pressure wave therapy system
Intended purpose
The device is a non-invasive therapeutic device using acoustic waves in order to stimulate local biological response of the treated tissue. Biological response includes decrease of local pain sensation, muscle relaxation and increase of blood microcirculation resulting in local metabolism enhancement and local trophic improvement. The device can be used to treat chronic tendinopathies, insertional pain, pain related to trigger points (myofascial pain syndrome), calcifications and chronic inflammations.
