Intended purpose
The neutral electrodes from KLS Martin are intended for connection to KLS Martin electrosurgical units. They serve for closing the RF circuit used for monopolar coagulation and monopolar cutting of biological tissue. The RF current fed into the patient’s body with a high density at the point of use of the active electrode during monopolar applications (active side) is then discharged with a low density by means of a large-surface neutral electrode attached to the skin of the patient (neutral side), thus returning it to the electrosurgical unit. The neutral electrode is a large-surface return current electrode made of non-conductive plastic materials and metal inserts.
