Intended purpose
A conductor (blade or tip) that is attached to an appropriate electrosurgical handpiece in order to provide an active electrical connection between the output terminals of an electrosurgical generator and the patient. The emitted energy is used to create lesions (cutting and/or cauterizing effect) at a desired site on the patient. It is commonly used in many kinds of surgery. The electrode can be monopolar or bipolar and is disposable.
