Evacuator, smoke, surgical

Intended purpose

Intended to remove smoke created by lasers, electrosurgical devices, and other devices that create smoke during surgical procedures. Some models may be used in Laparoscopy to help maintain the desired internal pressure (pneumoperitoneum) while evacuating smoke produced and can also be used to evacuate CO2 gas from the pneumoperitoneum at the end of laparoscopic procedures. All models automatically activate when active (smoke producing) devices that are coupled to the evacuator with special sensors are turned on.
