Intended purpose
The Smith+Nephew MICRORAPTOR Knotless REGENESORB Suture Anchor is intended for the reattachment of soft tissue to bone for the following indications: Hip: Acetabular labrum repair/reconstruction; Shoulder: Capsular stabilization, Bankart repair, Anterior shoulder instability, SLAP lesion repairs, Capsular shift or capsulolabral reconstructions; Biceps tenodesis.
Functional description
The Smith & Nephew MICRORAPTOR™ Knotless Suture Anchor is a fixation device consisting of an absorbable biocomposite suture anchor (poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid), beta tricalcium phosphate, calcium sulfate) and non-absorbable PEEK (polyether-ether-ketone) tip, assembled on to an insertion device (stainless steel shaft with ABS/polycarbonate handle) and suture threader (nitinol wire crimped into a stainless steel tube with ABS/polycarbonate handle). The device is sterile and for single use only.
