Intended purpose

A fixation device (screw or abutment) that holds plates or other devices to bone. This dev ice is used in ENT and maxillofacial surgery. There are a number of kinds available: cortical, cancellous, malleolar, scaphoid, partially threaded and fully threaded. These devices are made from either gold or titanium.
