Intended purpose

A small, rounded polyethylene plug used to seal the proximal end of an intramedullary nail after it has been implanted. The device prevents healing bone from growing inside the hollow nail, implanted to treat bone that has been damaged. It may also be used to help extend the length of a nail when necessary. This is a single-use device
