Device Dossier for Eclipse BCP Absorbable Interference Screw - Fixation screw, bone, biodegradable (Fixation screw, bone, biodegradable, Class III,…
- GMDN category: Fixation screw, bone, biodegradable
Intended purpose
The resorbable composite screw is composed of poly(L-Lactic-co-D-Lactic acid), Hydroxyapatite, and Tricalcium Phosphate. It is designed to provide fixation by interference between the graft and the bone tunnel walls during the consolidation period. It is indicated in the treatment of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
Functional description
The composite screw is composed of poly(L-Lactic-co-D-Lactic acid), Hydroxyapatite, and Tricalcium Phosphate. It is a tubular screw with a specific 5-branch recess which stretches along almost the entire length of the screw thereby ensuring proper distribution of the makeup torque. This composite screw is composed of a resorbable material and is meant to be totally absorbed by the organism during and after the healing phase of the bone. It is available in different diameters and lengths.
