Intended purpose

Lubricant with auxiliary local anaesthetic properties for easier insertion of catheters and instruments.

Functional description

Instillagel Almed is a lubricating gel with 2% w/w lidocaine (lignocaine) hydrochloride providing auxillary local anaesthetic action. Also contains 0.05% chlorhexidine gluconate for antimicrobial protection. Provided in 5 mL or 10 mL polypropylene syringes with polypropylene plunger rod with siliconized bromobutyl rubber stopper and chlorobutyl sealing cap. The tip of the syringe is inserted into the body orifice and gel is inserted by applying pressure to syringe plunger.
