Intended purpose

GVS HEPA are bacterial and viral filters intended to provide a highly effective barrier to airborne bacterial and viral organisms. The HME and bacterial /viral filter intended to be used for in-line humidification and bacterial/viral filtration during anaesthesia and intensive care, used to capture the patient's exhaled heat and moisture so that they can be used to heat and humidify therapeutic gases inspired by the patient; it contains a microbial filter to prevent cross-contamination with microorganisms between the patient and the breathing system. This is a disposable device not intended to be reprocessed, which has a multiple-patient use application (single patient reuse).
